Ten Years of Buying Stuff Online!

Just stumbled across this story on MSN. E-commerce turned ten years old today. How did we every cope without Amazon.com, Expedia, or iTunes? Can you imagine having to call around to all the airlines to find the best prices on tickets rather than going to priceline, travelocity, or orbitz? And E-bay! I mean, I've gotten into bidding wars of used knick-knacks that I didn't need and sorely regret. Ahhh the brave new world, gotta love the convenience.

E-commerce turns 10

Few remember or have ever even heard of the Web retailer, but on Aug. 11, 1994, the college grads that founded NetMarket in Nashua, N.H., claimed they had conducted the very first secure retail transaction on the Web.
