Impressions
Kerry is not as good as last time... but he's consistent in his tone...
Bush is at best uneven...and his jokiness is unpresidential and ultra lame...
(Schaffer seems to be softballing it to Bush....)
Social Security.....
Bush: Seniors will still get checks.....no vision here....odd pauses...if I believed in conspiracy theories I'd say his pauses are in fact caused by that secret ear plug... His performace is declining as this goes on...it will be intersting to see how he's doing at the 70 minute mark (about ten minutes away) when most debate mistakes are made....
Kerry: Bush's plan is an invitation to disaster... will cause two trillion dollar hole...(remember the days when massive government programs only cost 100's of billions?!)
Kerry cites Bush's $3 trillion spending proposals from his convention! We talked about that on Elephant....
