Hey! Did you see this thing on StarWars.com? In light of the 30 year anniversary of Star Wars, The History Channel is running a special called "Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed" which premiers May 20 at 9:00 pm ET. It's this really cool look at the political, historical and mythological influences on Star Wars. To promote this special, The History Channel is also running this contest offering the chance to win a trip to Star Wars Celebration Europe. Also! Audible.com and The History Channel are selling these audiobooks called “The Legacy Collection” which give you a more in depth look at the characters and themes that are discussed in “Star Wars: The Legacy Revealed”. I’m pretty pumped about this whole thing as I was a history major in school and love to find the historical connections in movies, especially classics like Star Wars.

It sounds a bit like a television version of the exhibit they had at the Smithsonian back in 1999..which was very well done.
