It Depends on What Your Definition of "Sanity" Is:
This morning I heard an excerpt from a stump speech President Bush gave yesterday. He said:
"If you vote for John Kerry, they're won't be fiscal sanity!"
Huh?! Bush and the GOP controlled congress guided us from a fiscal suprlus to a $400 billion plus deficit in four years. They've added $2,000,000,000,000 to the national debt during that same time, while not vetoing a single spending bill. That's not fiscal sanity. But maybe the president means that since there's no fiscal sanity now, there probably won't be after the election either. I don't know.
I do know that the Republican party will come to regret surrendering its reputation for fiscal restraint and accountable government, there's only so many social groups you can scare people with to get elected after all.
