Ok, So Is There Any Plan?
Did the Administration Ignore Bremer's Request?
It seems two things have emerged today. 1) Paul Bremer asked for more troops and 2) He did not get them. So who is the Administration listening to if not the man they appointed to run Iraq?! Does this not create a level of dissonance with anyone?
If Bush wasn't listening to Bremer, Elephant thinks that's a strong indicatation that this war is being run not by generals and those on the ground in Iraq, but by the "Smater than thou" appointees like Wolfowitz, Rice and others? Hasn't anyone learned the great mistakes of Macnamara and Vietnam? What happened to the Powell doctrine?
It's becoming increasingly clear that Bush does not infact have a handle on the Iraq situation. Oh, he's definitely certain, but its certainly definite that this is spinning out of control.
