Oops They Did It Again!

They'll Have to Pry This Mouse from my Cold Dead Hands!

Elephant hasn't really been to keen on how the current campaign has played out. On one side you've got the Swift Boat Vets and on the other Michael Moore/Kitty Kelley. Both putting out naked character assassination pieces. But hey, it's America right? I mean most of us are intelligent enough to see through the thick propaganda put out by extremists on both sides and by banning such communication, it has the perverse effect of giving it more street creed..as they say.

When it comes to political blogs, there has been a significant impact on politics and big media in this election. From Dan Rather's memogate to Cheney's blatant falsehoods during the debate, the blogosphere has had an noticeable and immediate impact on finding contradictory statements and past information to counter the spin by both sides of the aisle. So maybe that's why the FEC wants to get into the act and start regulating political websites. Oh yes, the focus for now will be on money....but in the long term I think both parties could agree that they should control the information about their candidates. Don't think so? Just look at the 32 page agreement on who can do what during the debates.
