Rating the Other Topics in Tonight's SOTU
President Bush is likely to talk about other topics in tonight's speech. These are reported to include: (Rated from * to ***** stars)
- Requiring high school students to take the math and reading tests now required of younger students under the No Child Left Behind law (**, **** if the program were fully funded)
- Pass his energy bill. (***-Still unlikely to happen though)
- Place limits on medical malpractice lawsuits. (**)
- Approve an immigrant guest worker program.(***** - Bush is so right on this issue, too bad his base hates this proposal)
- Confirm his nominees for federal judgeships.(**-Bush already has a 95% success rate on pushing his nominees through the Senate, stop whining already)
- Pass Association Health Plans Legislation (***** - would allow small employers to band together to purchase health insurance across state lines like the Fortune 500 does)
- Social Security Reform (*-Glad he has the courage to bring it up, but so far the proposal leaves me cold)
